If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Joining the BASF family via the 2018 Bayer acquisition, we welcome Ginger Light, Trait Development Trait Introgression and Greenhouse Manager in Lubbock, Texas. Ginger graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She later earned a Ph.D. in plant sciences from Texas Tech University. In her free time, Ginger enjoys the opportunity to work at the local food bank and community garden. Along with donating to these organizations, Ginger likes to support them by making donations after apple picking, assisting with food packaging and distributing food boxes during the holiday season. When she’s not volunteering, Ginger indulges her love of plants through wine making classes at University of California, Davis. Her dream is to one day improve the management and expansion of her six-acre vineyard into a boutique winery. Regardless of work and classes, family is at the center of many of Ginger’s most beloved activities. Christmas – a time when her entire family gets together – is her favorite time of year. However, if given the opportunity, a family vacation to Australia and New Zealand is at the top of her bucket list. Ginger believes sleep is overrated. Her dream superpower would be to never need sleep, finish daily tasks and create downtime for some of her favorite activities. Despite her personal accomplishments, Ginger is most proud of her team. She enjoys creating chemistry with an incredibly engaged, trustworthy and committed group.

Meet Ginger Light, Trait Development Trait Introgression and Greenhouse Manager at the BASF site in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and a new member of the BASF family.
